Sarah Camille is an award-winning artist with a distinctive style and a warm presence.
This year, for the first time, she is hosting a Christmas concert. Young and old alike can look forward to this special moment, when the audience is enveloped in the warmth of music and stories.
For this concert on Tiny, Tiny, Tiny Christmas Eve, Sarah will perform both her own songs and Christmas carols that are close to her heart. She’ll share the stage with brilliant musicians and the Steiner School girls’ choir. Welcome!
When: Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
Where: In the Marmorsalen at Sentralen, Øvre Slottsgate 3.
The concert lasts about 50 minutes and is best suited for children ages 6 and up. Children under 2 get in for free.
““A storyteller and wordsmith of rare caliber””
Sarah Camille’s musical expression and lyrics are full of contrasts: playfulness, rhythm, and flow—but also seriousness and melancholy. Musically, she moves between jazz, the folk song tradition, and folk music, all tied together by her soft and intimate vocals. She delivers her lyrics in Norwegian, French, and Creole, and on stage she is accompanied by a group of talented musicians who navigate a boundless musical landscape.
Sarah was born in Paris and grew up in Oslo—with roots in Martinique on her mother’s side and Stavanger on her father’s side. Artistically, too, Sarah constantly moves freely between many worlds: In 2011, she became the Norwegian slam poetry champion, and she has also contributed as a storyteller, lyricist, and playwright to many performing arts projects and theater productions. Gradually, music came to play a major role in Sarah’s work, and in 2017 she made her debut as a recording artist with the album *Sol*. In 2020, she won the Spellemann Prize in the Children’s Music category for her second album, *Spor av dråper og røde nebb*. With the albums “Vingeslag” (2021) and “våkner i en annen dag” (2023), she has now released four albums.
Miniøya presents receives event funding from the Arts Council Norway. The project also receives funding from the Sparebank Foundation for the operation of Miniøya’s festival school.
“‘Anorchid so exquisitely beautiful, a flower of the world. You’ll find her in the realm between folk songs and world music.’”
