No festival without volunteers!
To put on the festival, we need many volunteers to help with tasks both big and small. Everyone is welcome to join us, and we’re good at tailoring tasks to different needs and abilities. A little further down this page, you’ll find a description of the various tasks.
Volunteers receive 2 free tickets for working one shift. If you want to work more than that, you’ll receive 1 additional ticket per shift.
Age limits for volunteers.
The minimum age for volunteers is 6 years old. Children between the ages of 6 and 16 who wish to volunteer must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under the age of 16 can volunteer with the Sunshine Patrol or on cleanup/environmental projects. Note: Space in these groups is limited, so spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. When children and adults volunteer together, they count as one person for the purpose of earning free tickets.
Volunteers working at the concession stand and ticket office must be at least 18 years old.

Job Responsibilities

At Miniøya, we have our own kiosk, as well as a cotton-candy stand called Spinnvill. At the kiosks, we sell hot dogs, waffles, soda, ice cream, baked goods, and popcorn.

The festival safety officers ensure that festivalgoers of all ages have a good time at the festival. Their duties may include manning a gate or a specific area, answering questions from the public, or patrolling the grounds to make sure everything is in order.

Ticket desk volunteers help scan tickets at the festival. Volunteers working at the ticket desk should expect to be reassigned to the concession stand later in the day, as that’s where the most work is early in the day.

At the Miniøya Store, we sell band merchandise and Miniøya merchandise.

Help us keep the festival clean and tidy! We need some great volunteers to help with the festival's waste management.
